Where Are They Now: Greg Cooper

What program(s) have you been involved within AYMI?

Street Invaders, Equipping, Shout Tour, Eternal Riders-Wakeboard camp, Young Leaders Conference

Can you tell/write a quick story of your favorite memory with a program that you’ve been involved with?

Street Invaders. 1997 we went to England for the first international team for Street Invaders. In 1996, it was the first time I ever saw someone healed physically in Carlyle, Saskatchewan. 1995 I got to Junior Lead and I was 15 years old, and was younger than most people on my team. In 1998 we got evacuated from Salmon Arm to Nakusp, BC. In 1994 our bus broke down on the way to Nanaimo, 1995 our van broke down on the way to.

The first time I got to preach in a church service was when I was 16 in Carlyle (same time as the kid got healed). I got to lead a team in 2000 to Yorkton and we weren’t seeing a lot of kids coming out to our Power Stations, so we just flipped the script [on the mission] and we worked in a soup kitchen in the mornings and then we’d have time of prayer and stuff in the afternoons and then we’d start ministry at 11pm to like 3am.

During Shout Tour, we got to travel around Western Canada doing one night promotions for SI, LF, and 5 Stone Bratton.

What are you up to right now? (I.e., where do you work, what sort of ministry are you involved with, do you volunteer, do you have kids, etc.)

I am the youth and worship pastor at Eston Full Gospel Church. I am currently finishing up my last year at Eston College to get my Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies. I have three children, and I’m happily married.

Do you have any advice, spiritual, life, or career oriented, for those that are reading this?

Advice I would have to say would be don’t say that you’ll do it another time, just do it now.
